After I eat dinner every night, my sweet tooth acts up without fail. As previously mentioned, I munch on chocolate chips to fulfill my cravings. However, sometimes it just doesn't work. Or I feel guilty because I just went to the gym. Or I think about how it's summer and I really should be working on my beach bod. Regardless of the reason, sometimes I just need something else.
I bought strawberries the other day because the price had gone down from $7.99 a carton to $3.99. Steal! I like to put them in salads, make smoothies, or just snack on them. I had the brilliant idea of eating them for dessert one night, with a little whipped cream and some chocolate chips. I cut up about 6 or 7 strawberries, and well, you can guess the rest based on the picture.
Ingredients:
Strawberries
Chocolate Chips
Whipped Cream
Granola (cereal, something crunchy)
According to Google (USDA), one cup of sliced strawberries has 54 calories and 162% of your daily vitamin C. Talk about great!! 132 mini chocolate chips has 70 calories. I used about 40, so we'll say roughly 20 calories there. There's only 15 calories in 2 tablespoons of whipped cream, go crazy there. And I used Nature's Path Organic and gluten free cereal, about 70 calories.
Seriously you guys?! This vitamin rich, guilt and gluten free, sweet tooth pleasing snack is only 159 calories (give or take)!!! Ridiculous and nutritious.
So all I can say now is munch on sweeties!
